After Twitter went wild over footage some claim shows Harry Styles spitting on his Don't Worry Darling co-star Chris Pine, the 'As It Was' singer has made it very clear he's in on the joke.

As people analysed footage of the stars from every angle - which shows Pine suddenly stop clapping as Styles takes a seat next to him, look down, and pull a face - Styles has spoke out about what happened for the first time.

Chris' reps have categorically denied that Styles spat on Chris, telling Variety: "This is a ridiculous story – a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.

“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist."

Sources close to Harry also denied the rumour and while the whole thing seemed pretty dramatic, the singer took it in his stride.

Styles addressed the incident during his return to Madison Square Garden yesterday (7 September).
